There is one thing that I know for fact, and that is... You have to have a sense of humor to be in sales!
If you don't find a way to laugh about the things (good and bad) that happen to you on a daily basis, you just aren't going to be in sales very long. Why? The Sales Game will mess with your head... that's why!
Rejection, lost deals, micro-managing sales managers, missed bonuses, change in comp plans, product failure, bad install, customers in your face... Is that enough?
You have a couple of choices here:
1. Quit Sales cause this sucks!
2. Drink heavily or experiment with recreational drugs
3. Look for the humor and find the positive in everything that happens in your day
I chose number 3 above because life is too short not too! Making people laugh keeps me going in life and is a lot more healthy for you.
This blog is an escape from the daily sales game and a chance for you to laugh a little... and then get back to business. I will share some of the funny stories that I have accumulated over the years and some of the articles or movies that have made me laugh.

Glengarry Glen Ross

Tommy Boy
This is my favorite movie of all time! That will surely tell you a little about me... I have seen this movie probably 15 times and I still laugh out loud every time I see it.
Classic party guy turned salesguy. Way too funny.

Tin Men
If you like old Dreyfus and DeVito stuff, you will laugh at this movie. They are excellent in this flick.Haven't seen this as many times as Glengarry Glen Ross, but definitely put this on your "see" list. Great sales pitches and old time con acts.
